Artistic Bio
Melodie Isaac is a singer and musician currently based in Chicago but originally from Skokie, IL. Growing up, she has always been surrounded by music. Whether it was listening to all of her mom’s favorite music, trying out different musical hobbies, or being with her family who are artistically driven. Today, she strives to push herself to sing a variety of music genres that interest her. This includes rock, pop, r&b, jazz, Latin, and more. She aspires to make her own music in addition to performing in challenging and new environments. She wants to learn how to be comfortable and connect with any audience despite the nerve-racking aspect of it all. She also has a love for musical theater in which she desires to explore more.
Her training started at the beginning of her high school career. She joined choir and took vocal lessons with her teacher Ms. Zavala. In her sophomore year, she decided to join Vocal Jazz as well. She was faced with new obstacles because she was still learning how to sight-read, and being in Vocal Jazz involved working with more advanced material. However, her hardship turned into an achievement because she worked hard to improve her skills. She even received the Most Improved Jazz Musician Award at the end-of-year Vocal Jazz ceremony. Before junior year, she auditioned to attend The Chicago High School for the Arts and got accepted. Her training became more complex as she had vocal conservatory classes from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. She continued with jazz and contemporary music by joining the ensemble class for it. She is still thriving in those fields today.
